CBFSMS is a website that allows you to send SMS messages to mobile phones in the UK.
It is completely free, no membership needed and you can receive messages on to your computer. However the receiver will not know your actual number so it is best to use it with friends. You obviously cannot use it on-the-go as you will need a computer.
